Visual Arts

At Endeavour Schools Visual Arts is considered to play a very important role in a child’s education. This is demonstrated by the beautiful and exciting work created by the students which is displayed around the school and within the local community.

The visual arts teacher is a specialist in her field and is one of a select group of successful teachers nominated from the 20,000 Primary teachers in Western Australia for the Premier’s Teacher of the Year Award 2007. Something Endeavour Schools is very proud of.

The school has a large purpose built Art and Technology room and resources for clay work, including a kiln which is in regular use.

Endeavour Schools is unique, in that the visual Arts program is conducted in an integrated setting with Education Support students and mainstream students working as one on the same projects and in the same classes with no modified curriculum. This is possible because the visual arts teacher works in tandem with mainstream teachers, is trained in special education needs and runs the program with the support of additional education assistants. This enables all students to access extra assistance and encouragement when required.

For the past 3 years Endeavour Schools have participated, with great success, in the annual Art Blast exhibition held in October at Fremantle Town Hall. Art Blast is a showcase exhibition for primary aged children’s art work in the local district.

Endeavour Schools also donates framed student art work to the community and we have work exhibited at Princess Margaret Hospital, McNamara Lodge (a local residential home for the elderly)  and at the Mandurah District Education Offices.

At Endeavour Schools students are encouraged to be thoughtful and creative. We endeavour to share our artistic creativity with the local community at every opportunity.
