Net Set Go at Endeavour

2012

Welcome parents and students to 2012, this year is going to be a great year for our aspiring up and coming endeavour Net Set Go players.

Last year’s slogan was “We shine like the Diamonds” and this year is going to be “Our year to shine”.

We are looking at having some more clinics, training sessions and also encouraging local schools to join us in some Net Set Go round robins.

Our training begins Monday 6th February and will be held every Monday and Thursday at lunch time. Your child will need to remember their hat, water bottle and running shoes on these days.

All parents are welcome to help with training sessions, Net Set Go clinics or any other events that may arise.

We look forward to seeing you all this year and having a great time extending and learning new netball skills.

2011

This year our school has been lucky enough to participate in the Net Set Go program which has been put into place by Netball Australia to encourage disability inclusion in schools and netball clubs. Below I have added a few things our students have been lucky enough to be part of:

Our Training days have been on Mondays and Thursdays. The students have been having heaps of fun learning new netball skills, ball skills and social skills. As part of our training a group of our children were lucky enough to attend a netball clinic on the 11th August with two other schools. While at the netball clinic the students had the opportunity to participate in many skill based activities. Check out this website to see our students at the netball clinic. http://www.netballwa.com.au/newsItem.asp?orgID=25&ID=27364

Art Competition: We received an email asking us to show our support for the Australian Netball team as they were preparing for the World Netball Championships in Singapore. To show our support we were asked to create a poster to show our support. Our slogan was “We shine like the Diamonds”. If our poster was selected as being wonderful we would win a visit from the diamonds.

In July we received a phone call from Netball Australia telling us we had won the art competition and we would be having a visit from the Diamonds in November. We will be lucky enough to be having a visit from Caitlin Bassett (winning goal scorer at WNC) and Susan Fuhrmann (GK). This visit will be happening in November.

Our students have also been lucky enough to have their photos on a promotional poster to advertise inclusion participation. We have contacted Netball Australia for a copy of the poster to display at the school.

I would just like to say a special thank you to all the staff and parents who have taken the time to help train the children and support the children.
